IBM releases Financial Markets Industry Framework
IBM has recently released a new package of pre-integrated software applications intended for financial services market. These new applications are forming Financial Markets Industry Framework that is designed for the financial firms such as Wall Street stock trading company and such.
When you’re working with financials it’s all about speed so you want to minimize the time that is necessary for data transfer. The key is to get market data to the algorithmic applications fast as possible and Financial Markets Industry Framework is there to help. This framework is the latest addition to the other frameworks that IBM has released for different industries. As you know, IBM has already released frameworks for health care, petroleum and retail industry.
As for the Financial Markets Industry Framework, IBM’s WebSphere application server will serve as the basis for it. Framework itself will be available to get feeds from over 100 data feeds. After the feed have been collected, you’ll be able to search and filter those feeds in order to find specific events or triggers.
In addition, this framework also offers market surveillance and trade monitoring thanks to the IBM’s Cognos business intelligence software. There aren’t many applications integrated inside the framework but over time there will be more applications both from the IBM and its partners.
IBM is aware that companies may change their platforms every two years and in order to deal with that IMB will try to make its framework upgradable through enterprise service bus. As for the framework, it can easily work on servers that are using x86-based processors or on the IBM’s System P Power-based servers. As for the installation process, framework could be installed by IBM or by any other integrator.
IBM has already released several frameworks for different industries so it’s no surprise to see Financial Markets Industry Framework. Anyhow, IMB did an amazing job and we’re looking forward to future improvements.
